Services for C.B. Gililland, 84, of Lubbock will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Oakwood United Methodist Church with the Rev. Eddie Marcum officiating. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park under direction of Rix Funeral Directors. He died Friday, April 23, 2004.

He was born Dec. 22, 1919 to Frank and Nancy Ann Gililland in Montague County and attended school in New Deal following their relocation. During World War II, he served in the 8th Air Corps in England attaining the rank of sergeant. He married Juanita Adamson in Lubbock June 16, 1946 and she died November 1998. He was employed by Lubbock Auto for 15 years prior to owning and operating Plains Body Works for 35 years. C.B. was a charter member of Oakwood United Methodist Church, serving as Church School Supt. and as head usher.

He was a member of Yellowhouse Masonic Lodge for 50 years, as well as, Lubbock Scottish Rite Bodies and Khiva Shrine Temple. He was a member of the Lubbock Lions Club and several other organizations and served as a volunteer at Covenant Medical Center.

Survivors include a very special friend, Janie Sims; a daughter, Juanice Kirby of Bryan; a son, Chris and wife, Karen Preston, of Fort Worth; four grandchildren, Jillyn Yeager, Leanne Rivera, and Chad and Crista Gililland; and three great-grandchildren, Craig Kirby, Logan Rivera and Jennalyn Yeager. Family members will visit with friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday at Rix Funeral Directors. Memorials are suggested to Oakwood United Methodist Church, 2215 58th St., Lubbock, TX 79412.

Services for Tess Gililland, 85, of Lubbock will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13, 2004, at the Franklin-Bartley Chapel with the Rev. Phil McClendon officiating. Burial will be in the Resthaven Memorial Park in Lubbock under the direction of Franklin-Bartley Funeral Home of Lubbock .

Mrs. Gililland died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004. The family will receive friends following services and memorials may be sent to a charity of choice. Tess was born Jan. 17, 1919 in Vernon, Texas. She married Troy Gililland in 1947 and he preceded her in death on Jan. 13, 2003. Mrs. Gililland was a Methodist.

Survivors include her daughter, Donna Ammons of Lubbock; a grandson, Jeff Edwards and his wife, Jennifer, of Amherst; a great-granddaughter, Kaegan Edwards; four sisters, Essie Jeffcoat of Tyler, Nell Weathersby of Lubbock, Marie Austin of Lubbock, and Iris Chetty of Tyler. A daughter, Shirley Edwards, preceded her in death on June 14, 1982.
