Robert A. Gilleland, 78, of Cleveland, OH and formerly of Port Clinton died Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at Southwest General Medical Center, Middleburg Heights, OH. He was born July 17, 1933 in Port Clinton, OH the son of the late Robert M. and Eleanor J. (Allison) Gilleland.

He was an Electronic Technician for the FAA in Oberlin, OH. He was a member of Berea United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir. He was a member of Oliver H. Perry Lodge #341 F. & A. M., Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Cleveland, Al Koran Shrine, Cleveland, OH. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He enjoyed reading, modeling, watching movies, music, history and spending time with his family and going out to dinner. He was an avid Cleveland Browns and Indians fan. Surviving are his brother, James Gilleland of Perrysburg; nephews, Harold "Mac" Gilleland, James A. (Connie) Gilleland, Steven A. (Lisa) Gilleland all of Port Clinton; niece, Cynthia (Scott) Emch of Perrysburg; many great-nephews and great-nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister-in-law, Rita Gilleland.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Monday, November 7, 2011 at Trinity United Methodist Church, Port Clinton, OH where the body will lie in state from 10:00am until the time of the service. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Port Clinton, OH. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton, OH. Masonic prayer services will be held 7:30 Sunday evening in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to Trinity United Methodist Church, Oliver H.
