Last Saturday afternoon Samuel Gilliland died in the sanitorium at Hollidaysburg of nervous prostration with which he suffered the past two or three years. He was taken to the sanitorium early in the winter but failed to improve. He was the son of John and Margaret Gilliland, early settlers of Stonevalley, where he was born seventy-three years ago. His entire life was spent in farming and as a stock dealer, being well known in Centre Co. from his frequent trips buying horses and cattle. He was married to Rhoda Taylor, of Belleville, who died three years ago in a Kansas City sanitorium. He leaves no children. His remains were taken to Reedsville where burial was made on Wednesday.9
