Gilliland.3 John Joseph Gilliland married Lois Irene Deeter on 13 March 1969.1 John Joseph Gilliland died on 11 November 2010 at Crawford County Care Center, Saegertown, Crawford County, Pennsylvania, at age 82.1

COCHRANTON — John Joseph Gilliland, 82, of 23510 State Highway 322, Cochranton, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010, at Crawford County Care Center, Saegertown, after an extended illness.

He was born in Franklin on June 12, 1928, a son of Guy Gilliland and Jenny McIntire Gilliland. He was married to Lois Deeter Brock on March 13, 1969.

In his employment he had worked for Multi-Tool for more than 20 years in maintainence. Other employment was at Avtex for 19 years and he also operated a dairy farm.

He graduated from Cochranton High School. He was a lifetime member of the Rabbit Breeders Association and was chairman of the Crawford County Fair rabbit barn for more than 32 years. He was a versatile handyman and enjoyed working with wood. When he married Lois Brock, he became the father of her three children.

Survivors include his wife, Lois, of 41 years, of Cochranton; two daughters Barbara Denison of Linesville, and Donna Townsend and her husband, Neil, of Cochranton; two sons, Richard Brock and his wife, Terry, of Cochranton, and Ron Gilliland of North Carolina; eight grandchildren, Craig, Amy and Joy Denison, Natalie and Wyatt Brock, and Eric, Matt and Becky Townsend; numerous other grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; a nephew, Dale Deeter and his wife, Debbie, of Cochranton; and a niece, Marylin Smith of Mesa, Ariz.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Anna Deeter and Gertrude Carlson; a daughter, Susan Fausnaught; two sons, John M. Gilliland and Gary Gilliland; and a brother, Alfred Gilliland.

Visitation will be at Dickson Family Funeral Home, 123 S. Franklin St., Cochranton, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday.

The funeral will be Monday at 11 p.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Randy Keeling of Reash Community Church officiating.

Interment will be in Cochranton Cemetery.1
