     Boyd James Gilliland was born on 28 May 1935 at Franklin township, Venango County, Pennsylvania.2,1 He was the son of Boyd Gilliland and Evelyn Pearl Ross.1 Boyd James Gilliland appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Sugarcreek, Venango County, Pennsylvania in the household of his parents, Boyd Gilliland and Evelyn Pearl Ross.1 Boyd James Gilliland died on 26 March 2013 at New Port Richey, Pasco County, Pennsylvania, at age 77.2

Boyd James “Jim” Gilliland Jr., New Port Richey, Fla., formerly of Sharpsville, passed away peacefully Tuesday (3-26-13) after a long battle with emphysema. He was 77.

Mr. Gilliland was born May 28, 1935 in Franklin, a son of Boyd James and Evelyn Pearl Ross Gilliland.

Before recently relocating to New Port Richey, Jim was a longtime resident of Sharpsville and a graduate of Sharpsville High School.

Jim worked for Shenango Steel in Masury as a slitter operator. He moved on to be plant manager at Western Reserve Metals, Masury and retired as the plant manager at Colonial Metal Products, Wheatland.

He was a member of Free and Accepted Masons and participated in many activities with the Reynolds and Sharpsville VFWs, as well as other area social clubs. He enjoyed bowling and golf and spending time with his family.

Jim will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and a loyal friend to many.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, the former Marian E. Redmond; two daughters, Cathy J. Harris and her husband James, New Port Richey, Fla., and Tina M. DeBonis and her husband Jeff of Chagrin Falls, Ohio; a son; Timothy C. Gilliland and his wife Jeannette of Pittsburgh; four grandchildren, Amanda and Dillon Harris, and Sara and Kelle DeBonis; and two great-grandchildren, Chase and James.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his uncle Glenn C. Gilliland.2

Wilda I. Gilliland of Sandy Lake, died at 6 a.m. Friday, Jan. 15, 2010, in Sugar Creek Station, Franklin, after an extended illness. She was 92.

Born Sept. 1, 1917, in Mill Creek Township, Miss Gilliland was a daughter of Herbert R. and Ida May McIntire Gilliland.

Wilda attended Glen Country School in Mill Creek Township.

She worked hard on the family dairy farm all her life and had also worked outside the home doing domestic work.

She was of the Protestant faith.

Miss Gilliland enjoyed her time spent with family, especially her sister, Esther. They were best friends as well as sisters.
Wilda is survived by: her sister, Esther E. Gilliland, Franklin; two nieces, Barbara Carpenter, California; and Donna McIntire and her husband Bill, Fountain, Colo; and two nephews, Everett Gilliland and his wife Judy, Franklin; and Bill Gilliland and his wife Jackie, Cherry Valley, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Eleanor McElhaney; and four brothers, Joseph, Boyd, Merle and Oakley Gilliland.

Memorial contributions may be made to Sandy Creek Volunteer Fire Company, 624 Congress Hill Road, Franklin, PA 16323.
