     Mahala Parrish was born on 9 December 1800 at North Carolina.2,3 She and Thomas Jefferson Gilleland obtained a marriage license on 11 August 1824 at Lincoln County, North Carolina.1 Mahala Parrish was probably the female age 40 to 49 listed in the household of her husband, Thomas Jefferson Gilleland, in the 1840 Federal Census of Lincoln County, North Carolina.4 Mahala Parrish and Thomas Jefferson Gilleland appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Catawba County, North Carolina, enumerated 22 August 1850. Their children Osborne, Lucinda, Jane, Henry Allen, Nancy Camilla and Susannah were listed as living with them.5 Mahala Parrish and Thomas Jefferson Gilleland appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Catawba County, North Carolina, enumerated 17 October 1860. Their children Lucinda, Nancy Camilla and Susannah were listed as living with them.6 Mahala Parrish and Thomas Jefferson Gilleland appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Catawba County, North Carolina, enumerated 2 July 1870. Their children Nancy Camilla and Lucinda were listed as living with them.3 Mahala Parrish died on 2 June 1880 at Catawba County, North Carolina, at age 79.2 She was buried at Gilleland Family Cemetery, Sherrills Ford, Catawba County, North Carolina.2 She and Thomas Jefferson Gilleland appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Catawba township, Catawba County, North Carolina, enumerated 14 June 1880.      Levina Gilliland was born circa 1808 at Jefferson County, Ohio.2 She was the daughter of David Gilliland and Margaret Long.1 Levina Gilliland married Peter Snyder on 12 January 1826 at Jefferson County, Ohio.3,1 Levina Gilliland died on 5 September 1878 at Crestline township, Crawford County, Ohio.2
