January 20-- Mr. Noah “Junior” Gilleland, age 74, of Vidalia, died Saturday, January 18, 2014 in Glenwood Healthcare after an extended illness. He lived in Griffin all of his life before moving to Vidalia in 2012.

He retired after twenty-eight years as the bus shop supervisor for the Spaulding School System. He was an active member of the Central Lake Church of God in Griffin where he also maintained the church buses. He enjoyed the outdoors; including fishing, boating and skiing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Noah E. Gilleland, Sr. and Flonia Allison Gilleland; and a son-in-law, Raymond Coursey.

Mr. Gilleland is survived by his wife, Linda Gilleland; one daughter, Cathy Coursey of Vidalia; one son, Keith Gilleland and wife Manuja of Farmersville, California; three sisters, Imogene Butler and Belle Kendrick of Griffin and Mae Thayer and husband Ellis of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; two brothers, Ronald Gilleland and wife Betty of Buford and Donald Gilleland and wife Bobbie of Griffin; seven grandchildren, Elijah, Robert, Crystal, Raymond, Meghan, Jacob, and Noah; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 21st at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Daniel Gilliam officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday beginning at 1:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sweet Onion Animal Protection Society, P.O. Box 210, Vidalia GA 30475.3
