Eula Mae Gilliland

(ROANOKE) Services for Eula Mae Gilliland, 92, of Roanoke, were Saturday, March 20, 2004, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Baptist Church with the Rev. Bobby Kirby and Rev. S. T. Janney officiating. Burial followed in Cedarwood Cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Gilliland died Thursday, March 18, at Marshall Medical Center North in Arab.

Survivors include a sister and brother-in-law, Juanita and Doug Brooks of Arab, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pallbearers were Chip Cofield, David Cofield, Sammy Hill, Randy Gilliland, Mike Gilliland and Gerson Bonner.

Ms. Gilliland was a native of Clay County, born Feb. 14 1912, the daughter of Amon Gilliland and Mary Gabriel Gilliland. She was retired from Handley Mills and a member of Trinity Baptist Church.1

(FIVE POINTS) Funeral services for Ada Lucile Miles, 71, of Five Points, formerly of Huguley, were Friday, Mar. 17, 1995, at 2 p.m. from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel, with the Revs. Cecil Halsey and E. G. Clark officiating. Burial was at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Lanett.

Mrs. Miles died Tuesday, Mar. 14, at West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange.

A Clay County native, she was born Feb. 9, 1924, daughter of Amon and Mary Ann Gabriel Gilliland. She was an LPN retired from work with LaFayette Nursing Home and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Fredonia.

Survivors include her husband, Johnny Miles of Five Points; four sisters, Miss Mary Gilliland and Mrs. Shirley Powell of Roanoke, Mrs. Juanita Brooks of Arab and Mrs. Peggy Brown of Huguley; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Randy Gilliland, J. T. Miles, Wayne Miles, Jason Miles, Rev. O. J. Hodnett, and Mike Gilliland.

Quattlebaum Funeral Home of Roanoke was in charge of arrangements.
