CLARKSVILLE, VA., June 13 – L. B. Gilliland, Sr., for more than half a century a resident of this place, died in Norfolk on Monday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Julius Burgeman. The body was brought to Clarksville for interment this afternoon. Mr. Gilliland was an active Mason and member of the Clarksville Baptist Church. He served in the Confederate Army. He leaves two daughters, Mrs. Julius Burgeman and Mrs. Lucinda Smith, both of Norfolk, and three sons, L. B. Gilliland, Jr., of Clarksville, T. B. Gilliland and George W. Gilliland, of Norfolk.10
